And together with my husband, James, for nearly 50 years combined, we’ve been the people behind the scenes: designing the pipes and pumps that bring water to your home, working in regulation to protect our precious water sources, and rolling up our sleeves to improve how water is delivered to communities, both here in Australia, New Zealand and as far away as remote villages in Tanzania.

But as our careers grew, so did our family - and our frustration. We know firsthand how much effort goes into making water “safe,” but we also see the gaps: the invisible contaminants that still make it to the tap, the lack of real innovation for everyday people, and the mountain of plastic waste piling up from bottled water and disposable filters. We wanted better for our kids, for ourselves, and for everyone who just wants to drink water without worry.

So, we decided to do something about it. We set out to build something new - something that would empower people to take charge of their health, without sacrificing convenience or the planet.

That’s how BetterSip was born.

We’re not just engineers; we’re parents who want our kids to grow up healthy, and people who believe that science and sustainability can go hand in hand. We know what it’s like to juggle work, family, and the desire to make a difference. That’s why we’re building BetterSip to fit real lives—yours and ours.
